Thesis Publication
International Journal of Electrical Energy and Control Systems (IJEECOS) supports researchers who want to publish journal articles derived from their M.Tech/M.E/M.S/PhD thesis or dissertation.
Important: IJEECOS does not publish the full thesis as a journal article.
Instead, authors should prepare a research paper based on one strong part (chapter) of the thesis.
What We Accept
We accept:
Original research articles developed from thesis work
Review articles based on thesis literature review (if rewritten as a journal review paper)
Case studies/technical notes derived from thesis experiments or simulations
The manuscript must fit within the journal scope:
Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, Power & Renewable Energy, Power Electronics, Drives, EV/Charging, and Control Systems.
How to Convert a Thesis into a Journal Paper (Simple Steps)
Step 1: Select One Strong Chapter
- Choose one focused topic such as:
- Control algorithm design and results
- Microgrid/renewable optimization results
- Battery/EV charging analysis
- Converter or machine drive performance study
- Smart grid/protection/power quality study
Step 2: Rewrite in Journal Format
- Your paper should contain:
- Title
- Abstract + Keywords
- Introduction (short and focused)
- Methodology / Model / System Description
- Results and Discussion
- Conclusion and Future Work
- References (IEEE style recommended)
- Step 3: Reduce Thesis-Style Content
- Avoid:
- very long background chapters
- repeated explanations
- full thesis tables/appendices
- Focus more on:
- methods + results + contribution + comparison
- Thesis Repository and Similarity Policy
- If your thesis is available online (university repository), it may appear in similarity checks. This is normal.
- To ensure ethical publication:
- Write the manuscript as a new, improved journal article (not copy–paste).
- Cite the thesis where required (if publicly available).
- Keep overlap minimal and ensure substantial new writing and presentation.
- Authorship and Permissions
- Only real contributors should be included as authors.
- If your thesis includes work done in a lab/group, ensure you have permission and include proper acknowledgements.
- If any thesis content includes copyrighted figures, obtain permission or redraw the figures.
- Peer Review Applies Normally
- All thesis-derived submissions undergo the same journal process:
- Single-blind peer review
- Usually 2 reviewers
- Decision: Accept / Minor Revision / Major Revision / Reject
- What to Mention During Submission (Mandatory)
- When submitting, please include a note:
- “This manuscript is derived from my thesis/dissertation titled: __ (University, Year).”
- Mention whether the thesis is online (Yes/No) and provide a link if applicable.
- Subject line format:
Thesis-based Submission – IJEECOS – [Manuscript Title]
APC Policy
No APC until 31 December 2026
From 1 January 2027: USD 200 APC per accepted article
No submission fee. APC is charged only after acceptance.
